There isn’t really a season of the year that I’m not in the mood for apple pie and an old fashioned, but the craving for both is certainly heightened during the winter months.
There’s just something so cozy and homey about both delicious treats that the idea of combining them? My holidays are forever changed and for the better.
The folks over at Velvet Bar in Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel have been kind enough to share their recipe to bring this piece of cheer home for the holidays. So light that bonfire, pour a glass, and prepare for that happy, warm-tummied feeling of a good drink shared with good people.
RECIPE: Velvet Bar – Apple Pie Ol’ Fashioned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
2 oz. Apple Pie Corn Whiskey
½ teaspoon of sugar
Orange slice
Dirty cherry
3 dashes of bitters
Cinnamon stick
Fresh apple slice
Your favorite holiday playlist
WHAT YOU’LL DO WITH WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Press play on the holiday playlist.
- Muddle together the sugar, cherry, orange slice, and bitters.
- Add whiskey and gently stir to combine.
- Strain over a large ice cube.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and apple slice.
