Second Round of Layoffs at Walt Disney World, including Additional Prominent Live Entertainment Cast Members.

Last month, Disney Laid off 28,000 cast members including many prominent live entertainment cast members. Well tonight, there has been a second round of layoffs including the majority, if not all, of the remaining live entertainment cast members.

According to WDWNT, the entire casts and crew of the following have been laid off.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Dinner Show at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo – The Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Show and Main Street USA Citizens, Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire and Move it Shake It at Magic Kingdom

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, Citizens of Hollywood, Disney Junior Live Dance Party, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Jedi Training, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge First Order Encounter and Green Army Men at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

This is heartbreaking news for all cast members effected by all the layoffs. If you would like to help, one way you can do so is by visiting www.castmemberpantry.com. This is a non profit organization helping out cast members in this time of need. On their Facebook page, they mention that cash donations are accepted through Venmo @castmemberpantry and they have also set us an Amazon Wish list.

As a kid, I had visited Disney multiple times and it sparked a passion for all things Disney. In 2010, I proposed to my wife in front of Cinderella's Castle an since then it has been a large part of our life. Now as a father of three and experiencing Disney with my wife through our children's eyes, our love for Disney has grown tenfold and I can't wait to share my passion and experiences with you.
